Why does it even matter?

May 28, 2025

I’m Tanya.
I’ve learned that a little bit of intentionality goes a long way in accomplishing the goals we set for ourselves. This blog is meant to equip you with just that - simple tips, tricks, advice, and encouragement that help you live an intentional life.

Gimme that

I happen to see a fair amount of women who have actually seen a pelvic PT before they come and work with me – either in-person or through one of my courses.

Some common stories I hear from them are:

“I was just given kegels, and there wasn’t a lot more that we did.”

“ I was told to wear this brace, and my diastasis should get better on its own.”

“They gave me some core exercises but then said that was all they could do for me even though I wasn’t feeling 100%.”

“They did a lot of internal work at every visit, and I felt so uncomfortable.”

There are lots of great PTs out there – I’m certainly not the only one who can treat pelvic floors. I’m certainly not smarter than others, but here is what you get when you work with me:

  1. I won’t be satisfied till we are at 100%. I’m determined to see you heal if you’re willing to get there, too.
  2. I can give you 60-90 minute appointments so we can be THOROUGH and really figure out the root issue of your struggles + a fantastic plan to get you to your goals.
  3. I’m not up for band-aid approaches. I’m not up for quick fixes. My patients only average 2-4 appointments before reaching their goals!! But we aren’t going to just try to get your symptoms down – we’re going to fix your problems for good!
  4. Unlike a lot of pelvic PTs, I don’t need to do a lot of internal work, and it’s ALWAYS your call – you’re in charge, not me, when it comes to internal work, and your comfort is always my primary concern. Many women have opted not to have internal work done, and they’ve still had success with pelvic PT!
  5. We will always work towards function and meeting your individual goals. Everyone is different – your lifestyle is not the same as my next patient, so your entire time with me will be based on that, not following a regimen or plan that everyone gets.
  6. You get my undivided attention. You won’t have others working with you, even in my courses! I’m the one answering your questions. My inbox stays clean so that you will always get an answer in a timely manner, whether that’s while taking a course or in-between visits. You’re never left on your own to figure something out.

You deserve to THRIVE this summer! Your body is made to HEAL! And you shouldn’t settle for 75% when you could be living at 100!

Why does it even matter? Because I know what it is to not live well. I know what it is to settle. I’ve been there too. I’ve struggled postpartum. And it was hard – to take care of my kids, to not be able to move or exercise the way that I wanted. It was hard to feel weak, or like I might hurt my back if I lifted something too heavy.

Now, I don’t even think twice about it. I play volleyball and basketball with my kids, I waterski at the lake, and just this weekend, I did heavy manual work cleaning up our landscaping and garden area. I can still pick up and carry my 7-year-old if she’s hurting and sprint around the bases during our family game of kickball.

If you want to live an active lifestyle with your family, I’d love this for you, too. It’s not just about {not} peeing your pants or having toned abs. Honestly, if that’s all this was about, I wouldn’t be doing it. Instead, it’s about my patient who…

  • wants to give her kids a bath without back pain after a night around the bonfire
  • wants to go to Yellowstone this summer without having to stop and pee every hour.
  • wants to play spike ball with friends on the 4th of July
  • wants to go boating without constantly feeling like she might pee in her swimsuit
  • Wants to push her double stroller on a gorgeous summer day and not feel like her uterus is falling out of her.

This is why pelvic PT matters. It’s not just about avoiding pantyliners and having a flat tummy in a swimsuit. There’s nothing wrong with that per se, but it’s about so much more.

If YOU want what these women have found, I’d love to work with you! Here’s how:

  1. You can work with me 1-1 in my clinic here or virtually online.
  2. However, I know how summer can be – it’s busy, and you’ve got all the kids home, and making appointments is hard! That’s why I developed two courses – Pelvic Core and Diastasis 101.
    1. Pelvic Core is for those of you who are struggling with pelvic floor weakness, prolapse, and urgency.
    2. Diastasis 101 is specifically for diastasis training. If you’re questioning which one you need, just reply, and I can help you work through it.
    3. However, we do have a BIG DISCOUNT if you want to purchase both together!
  3. Feel like too much to bite off right now? Then consider joining me in Refine Fitness – this is a great first step if you want to work on getting stronger in 15-30 minute workouts, 3-4x/week.

You were made to THRIVE this summer, and just b/c summer is right around the corner, it’s not too late. Stop settling for 75%. You were made for 100% – healing awaits. 🩷
