I’m Tanya.

Thinking about pelvic PT but scared? Read these common fears and what you can really expect!

+ They’re going to do an internal exam, and I might not feel comfortable.
While this may be true with a lot of pelvic PTs, my patients are in charge at my appts, and if you don’t feel comfortable with an internal exam, we can do a lot for you without one! In fact, only ¼ of my patients have an internal exam b/c I find they’re often not necessary!

+ It’s going to cost me thousands of dollars.
While this may be true for a traditional PT office, especially if you haven’t yet met your deductible, my patients average $350-650 on their full episode of care (all appts combined!)

+ For the next 6 weeks, I’m going to have to carve out time for 2 appts/week from my already busy schedule.
Again, this is true of traditional PT, but my patients average just 2-4 appts TOTAL with 3 weeks in between appts

+ I’m going to have to do 30 min of exercise/day as homework.
This can be true for some PTs, but my patients only do 5-10 min of exercise/day and achieve the same, if not BETTER results! Sometimes less is more.

+ It’s going to be awkward talking about my pelvic floor.
I know this topic can feel awkward to some, but in my office, nothing is TMI, and I hope I can put your worries at ease. The pelvic floor is just another muscle in your body that can experience dysfunction. God created ALL of your body GOOD, & ALL of it is capable of healing too.

+ This is such a silly thing to go to PT for. My issues aren’t that bad.
Would you go to PT if your shoulder was keeping you from picking up your kids? Would you go to PT if your knee was keeping you from running or walking? Then why would you NOT go to PT for your pelvic floor if it’s keeping you from living your life FULLY? Most women that I work with say, “That wasn’t nearly as hard as I thought it would be – I just wish I had gone sooner!”

What fears do you have about pelvic PT? Or have you had a bad experience with a previous PT? If so, I’d love to show you there’s a different way. My patients get 60-75 minute appts, and if you’re willing to do 5-10 min of exercise/day you WILL get results!
