Can I take this burden off of you?
There’s nothing wrong with wanting to wear your pre-pregnancy clothes after baby comes. But there’s also an expectation that this is the norm when, in reality, that’s not always the case.
Your body has been permanently changed by childbirth – whether you can see it physically or not.
Some women lose weight quickly…others don’t.
Some find that they lose weight, yet everything feels proportioned differently.
For some women, weight loss is easier while breastfeeding, but it can be more challenging for others.
The uterus takes TIME to decrease in size, and it’s sort of like a deflated balloon – a little stretched out even after some time has passed.
Other women find that their hips and rib cages have expanded and have not necessarily returned to “normal” post-baby.
Whatever the case may be, please take the pressure off YOU. Don’t compare yourself to someone else, and also, don’t compare yourself to yourself – with a different pregnancy, time of life, age, and journey.
Stop shaming your body for changing. It’s allowed to change in different seasons – this is actually normal.
Seek after God’s best for your health – let the rest fall into place as it may – and may we normalize being most at home in the GOOD bodies we’ve been given, in all our shapes and sizes. You have a good shape – right now as you are.
