We’re not simply training strength…we’re training your brain

A couple of weeks ago I filmed these exercise for you in a reel, but what you DIDN’T see was that I STRUGGLED my first couple of reps! I wasn’t automatically perfect at it (which is a good lesson in and of itself), but what I want you to notice in this video, is that with each rep, I IMPROVED. Did my muscles suddenly get stronger?


What actually happened is that with every rep, my brain was trying to figure out how to be more effective/efficient at what I was asking it to do. And in a matter of seconds, it figured out how to accomplish what I was asking of it. The first few times weren’t pretty, but by the last few, I had some solid reps to show you. 🙂

How does this apply to my training programs? Because so much of what I do is teaching your BRAIN a new way of doing something and unlearning old habits that aren’t serving you. Does it take some time? Yes. Is it physically hard? No. Are you capable regardless of your age? YES! And can results sometimes show up in a short amount of time? YES! 🙂

Now of course it depends on lots of factors, but I’ve had women see drastic changes in leaking in as little as a couple of weeks, not b/c their pelvic floor got so much stronger, but because their BRAIN learned how to coordinate and control the muscle better!
